About the Role:
FlightPad is seeking a Lead Operator & Technician to run our Boeing 737 fixed base simulator. This hands-on role is perfect for someone with a passion for aviation and customer service, as you will be operating the simulator for public, training and corporate experiences. As a technician, you will also regularly maintain and upgrade our flight simulator to ensure a smooth, consistent operation.
What You’ll Do:
- Operate the Boeing 737 fixed-base simulator for FlightPad bookings. This includes public experiences, training sessions, corporate days and UWL events (e.g. university open days).
- Guide customers through an immersive flight, ensuring a high-quality experience.
- Coordinate with the chief engineer to conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to keep the simulator operational.
- Install upgrades and system updates as required.
- Maintain simulator logs, documenting maintenance work and performance issues.
- Support the sim operator team with technical requests, which may involve remote troubleshooting.
- Be available for 4 weekend dates per month to deliver FlightPad experiences (Saturday and/or Sunday) as required by the business.
What We’re Looking For:
- Passion for aviation and a growth mindset.
- Experience in operational management, or relevant transferable skills in aviation, event or customer service
- Strong customer service and attention to detail.
- Reliable, professional and customer-focused.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate effectively in different ways, both written and verbal.
- Unrestricted right to live and work in the UK without sponsorship.
- Preferred: Technical aptitude for operating a Boeing 737 flight simulator (interface used: FS Flight Control).

Additional Information:
- Part Time: 3 days per week (8 hours per day). Weekend shifts will be required based on business needs.
- Location: Hybrid (Remote and University of West London, St Marys Rd, London W5 5RF)
- Reporting To: Directors of TurnPoint Ltd
- Day Rate: £150-£200 depending on experience

Responsibilities — you will undertake the following duties:
- FlightPad Operations
1.1. Running FlightPad sessions as required by commercial agreements.
1.2. Management of the simulator operator team, including the selection and recruitment of new team members.
1.3. Management of engineering tasks, and liaison with the chief engineer. Evaluation and development of engineering solutions to maintain and enhance asset and commercial resilience.
1.4. Take the lead in organising the work of FlightPad to help drive forward that arm of the business. - Events and Communications
2.1. Take the lead in delivering events associated with core projects and assist in the delivery of others as required, alongside the CEO, Directors and other colleagues.
2.2. Liaise with relevant teams to prepare and deliver detailed briefings to senior management and external partners relating to our operations.
