Your Experience in Detail.

  • Purchase and book your experience online using the Buy Now button.
  • Once we have received your payment and booking, you will be sent a confirmation email from FlightPad with details and instructions regarding your visit (check spam in case).
  • Our flight simulator experience days operate on weekends only (Saturdays and Sundays). We do get busy, so please book your experience in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.
  • Please aim to arrive approximately 15 minutes before your booking time. If you get to us earlier, you may have to wait at reception.
  • If you want to make a day of it, please ask us about booking in for lunch or dinner at the Pillars Restaurant. This is a student run, educational restaurant which provides you with a fantastic fine dining experience at a very affordable price. Other dining facilities are available at the university and you are welcome to use these during your visit with us.
  • When you purchase and book your flight simulator experience, you will receive a confirmation email containing full details regarding your visit.
  • When ready, you will be escorted into our cosy FlightPad departure lounge.
  • Your instructor will conduct a pre-flight briefing, go over the aircraft controls and discuss the session.
  • Want to fly from a particular airport? Just ask! Our simulator has many of the most popular destinations loaded. Mention it when booking, or to your instructor when you arrive.
  • Once the briefing is complete, we will take you into the simulator. You will be shown into your seat, with the rest of your crew assuming their positions at the back of the ‘aircraft’. It is at this point that your simulator time begins.
  • It is your session and therefore your instructor will enable you to be at the controls as much as possible – we do, however, ask that you pay attention to the techniques and instructions that your instructor provides to ensure a successful flight!
  • If you want to purchase more time, please ask your instructor who will be able to advise on the availability on the day.
  • Our flight simulator is ‘fixed base’, so it doesn’t actually move. However, because our wrap-around visuals are so immersive, you will probably still feel like you are moving. Don’t worry if this happens to you – it is perfectly normal!
  • Time to relax – following your flight, there will be an opportunity to take pictures with all your guests. Your guests can take pictures during the flight too (with flash off), but we would urge that you remain fully in charge of your aircraft at all times!
  • Just like on a real flight deck, we can conduct a post-flight briefing after each flight and discuss what went well and how you can improve for next time.
  • Should you wish to take advantage of our in-flight shop, we have some fantastic items on sale in the FlightPad arrival lounge.
  • After we exit FlightPad, we will escort you back to the reception, or to the Pillars Restaurant to continue your experience.

Accessibility.

We try to accommodate all our guests but certain restrictions do apply for your own safety.

  • Access into the simulator is somewhat restricted. If you are in a wheelchair or have mobility issues, please call us to discuss your individual requirements – we will do our best to help and to try accommodate you.
  • This flight simulator experience is not suitable for anybody with photo sensitive epilepsy.
  • Minimum age to fly is 12 years – there is no upper age limit!
  • If you are shorter than 4ft 8″, you may struggle to see out of the window.
  • When coming to the flight simulator experience, please inform the instructor if you suffer from motion sickness. Although the simulator does not move, it can cause some people to react to the surroundings as it is very realistic!
  • Guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent, carer or responsible adult. We ask that if you are bringing younger guests with you who won’t be flying, there is a second, non-flying adult with you.
  • For each public simulator flight experience, a maximum of 4 guests can attend. We unfortunately do not have sufficient room in the simulator for more guests.

This list is not exhaustive so please refer to our terms and conditions for further information before booking.
